Starting off with the hard stuff, huh? I’m a lifelong Hoosier, but I’m a Boilermaker by choice (BOILER UP!). I grew up in James Dean’s home town and let me tell you, I am not a fan of his and have never seen a single one of his movies. I literally grew up in middle of nowhere farm country and I never want to leave. I graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with a degree in Biology and Forensic Sciences. From there, I started work as an oncology research scientist and have been with the same company over the last 7 years. I married my wonderful husband, Thomas, on my birthday in 2010. Our wedding was about as disastrous as you could imagine with the groom nearly dying in the hospital and a massive re-planning to get married a week later. I tease him now after 5 years of marriage that if he didn’t want to marry me that badly he could have thought of better ways to get out of it than trying to die. One fun fact about me is that I am a pastor’s wife who loves to write dirty books and read even dirtier ones. While we currently don’t have any kids, we have two very feisty and ferocious cats named Jezebel and Cleo that hate our new very odd looking dog, Asa. Are you an action, paranormal, or romance type of person? I literally read anything that I can get my hands on. I’m the type of person who would read the back of a food carton just to have something to read. There’s honestly not a genre that I haven’t tried. Tell us about your latest release. My latest release, Cassie’s Court, is a previously published novella from a Cancer Benefit Anthology. Cassie and Abby’s story isn’t an easy one, but through the heartbreak comes survival and determination that will be key throughout the next two books of the series. Do you have any upcoming releases in what’s left of 2016? Right now, I am tentatively scheduled to release a novella for my Heaven’s Rejects MC series featuring Raze at the end of December. What can readers expect from you in 2017? I have several books planned for 2017! My goal is to publish the next two Heaven’s Rejects MC books, the next novella in the Damaged series, and the next book in the Cassie’s Love series, Cassie’s Wish. It’s going to be a busy writing year for me! Which of your books was your favourite to write and why? That’s a really hard question to answer because I love all my books for one reason or another. If you twisted my arm, I would say Angels and Ashes. That book dealt with so many emotions from the first book, Heaven Sent, and finally brought closure to the death of one of the men early on. It was nice so write a female character, such as Darcy, who stood up for herself and took charge. If you were stranded on a desert island with one of your characters, who would you pick and why? Raze! Definitely Raze. Not only would be nice eye candy, but he’s handy too. Do you have book boyfriend? If yes, who? I have a book boyfriend harem! But, the king of all my book boyfriends would have to be Reyes Alexander Farrow. Who could say no the sultry son of Satan that could literally melt your panties off? Who are your must-read/one-click authors? Oh let’s see! Darynda Jones, River Savage, Ryan Michele, MN Forgy, Ilona Andrews, Faith Hunter, Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstrong, Kim Jones, Chelle Bliss, and Harper Sloan. Yeah, that’s just who I can think of right now! What book has made you cry the most? Hands down, Cassie’s Court. So many of my deeply seeded emotions over losing my Dad suddenly from cancer were interwoven within that story. I cried while writing it and I know many of my readers have ugly cried while reading it. I made myself UGLY CRY! Are any of your heroes based on real men in your life? Are any of the experiences in your books based on events that have happened to you/someone you know? The only story lines that come from my personal real life experiences in my books are Evie’s and Cassie’s battle with cancer. So much of their plights with the doctors and endless hospital stays are reminiscent of the 6 short weeks I watched by father bravely battle multiple myeloma. The emotions and underlying tones of the beginning of Evie’s story in Damaged are completely based on my father’s care. I don’t know how many times I had to step away from writing those first few chapters. The emotional turmoil really wreaked havoc on my psyche. Do you have any funny quirks or stories you would like to tell us about? I’m a dirty romance writing pastor’s wife that curses like a sailor and collects voodoo dolls. What is your drink of choice while writing? Moonshine! Do you have any pets? We have a hoard of pets that I hope only gets bigger some day. We have two cats, Jezebel and Cleo, and one hot mess of dog named Asa. What is your favourite season? Oh snap. It would have to be a tie between Fall and Winter. I love fall because the leaves are beautiful, the air is just the way I like it, and well, FOOTBALL! But, come Nov. 1st, yes, you read that right, Christmas season starts at my house. Do you prefer night or day? Night! I am so hard-wired to be a night owl. Are you a morning person? You haven’t seen any of my bed head disaster, I take it. I am a person of the night. The sun scares me and I have to force myself out of bed for work every day on the promise that there is caffeine waiting for me downstairs. Cowboys, fighters, mafia men, billionaires, or soldiers? All of them!!!! What book are you reading now? Right now, I am about to start reading Patchwhore by Kim Jones. I flove her! Name 3 books everyone needs to read (excluding yours). RAW by Belle Aurora (Pack the Kleenexes) Locke by Harper Sloan Any of the Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson series
