My tagline reads “USA Today Bestselling Author who loves Putting the Heat in Happily Ever After” But beyond that, I’m married, mom to two, stepmom to two, and pet mom to two. I live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where life is pretty good, and I drink lots of coffee and write lots of books. Are you an action, paranormal, or romance type of person? Romance no matter what. But that romance can be mixed with action or vampires or rock stars or superheroes…you get the picture. Tell us about your latest release. This month I’m releasing RACING TO RHAPSODY, which is the second book in my Rhapsody rock star series. This book is about Rhapsody’s backup guitarist, Dez Takimoto, and the band’s manager, Shannon Gunn. He’s an old soul, and she’s a tortured soul, but they fall in love and have to figure out to how to make it all work in the middle of a huge promotional tour for the band. Do you have any upcoming releases in what’s left of 2016? Yes, in the second half of December I will be releasing PLAYING THE CZAR, a standalone hockey romance. What can readers expect from you in 2017? A TON of books. I’ve set a schedule to double my normal release schedule. That will include several new books in each of my most popular series (Rhapsody and Powerplay), as well as several books in a whole new contemporary romance series, AND a special surprise release in a new genre—still romance of course, but a type of romance no one’s ever seen from me before ;) If you were stranded on a desert island with one of your characters, who would you pick and why? Probably Gabe from CONCEALED BY A KISS, because he was a soldier in Afghanistan and knows how to survive most anything, plus he’s super Alpha so he’d be sure to protect me. Do you have book boyfriend? If yes, who? When you read a book or two a week you tend to forget individual names. I pretty much love them all, so I guess you could say I’m not nearly as loyal to book boyfriends as I am to my real life guy. Have your family ever read any of your work? What do they think about it? I think my mother has read a few. My father refuses because he knows they’re dirty. My husband doesn’t and that’s just as well, because he’s super picky and critical about most things and it would only end up with us in a fight. I can only pray to God that none of my children have—they’re all teens and above, but still. What’s the best reaction you’ve ever received over one of your books? The things that always mean the most to me are when readers say that I really “got” something like alcoholism or mental illness right. I’ve had several readers over the years say that they’ve suffered from the afflictions my characters did, and I nailed it. That means a lot to me. What was your favourite book as a child? Winnie the Pooh, The Chronicles of Narnia Who are your must-read/one-click authors? Lauren Layne, Juliana Stone, Sarina Bowen Are any of your heroes based on real men in your life? Not so much. But Mr L likes to joke that he’s the cover model for most of my books. Are any of the experiences in your books based on events that have happened to you/someone you know? Sure, but not consciously. I don’t say, “Oh, I’m going to write about that time…” But things come out in a variety of ways, so of course the books are informed by things I’ve seen, done, heard, etc. What is the most romantic thing someone has ever done for you? Agreed to have babies with me. What is the wildest thing you’ve done? I don’t think they were wild so much as stupid, so I try to block them from my memory. What is your drink of choice while writing? Coffee, coffee, coffee. What is your favourite writing snack? Chocolate chips. Do you have any pets? Two—Goldendoodle and Demoncat If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Time travel! What is your favourite season? Summer Do you prefer night or day? Whichever one has me lying on a warm beach with a margarita in hand. Are you a morning person? God, no. Cowboys, fighters, mafia men, billionaires, or soldiers? Any and all of the above. For those who are new to your work, which book would you recommend starting with? A LUSH BETRAYAL – and it’s FREE!
