What can readers expect from you in 2017? 2017 is going to be an interesting year for Sydney Aaliyah Michelle. I've been writing all summer and hope to have several publications in 2017. Love Sick Series Book #2 & #3, which sticks with my sports romance love. Highland Park Chronicles - new sexy romance, light BDSM, series. I have three written already, Salvage Him, Educate Him, Observe Him. I also have a couple of novella and another Christmas novella with the characters in Highland Park Chronicles. Which of your books was your favourite to write and why? Anxious love was my favourite novel to date. I went through every emotion my characters felt as I wrote it. From extreme highs, to anxiety, tears, passion & love. Ryan & Leah are amazing and brave characters and I rooted for them even though I knew what was going to happen. It's the only one of my books that I have read over and over again and don't want to change a thing. If you were stranded on a desert island with one of your characters, who would you pick and why? Oh, that's hard. Making me choose between my children. haha. I think I would like to be stranded with Ryan Ware. He's big and strong and pretty good with his hands, so I think he could build a great existence for us on that island. He's a bit goofy, so endless entertainment. Besides, he is incredible gorgeous and knows how to please. ;-) Have your family ever read any of your work? What do they think about it? My cousin/BFF is one of my beta readers. She critiques my sex scenes. My mother has read my other books, but I told her not to read Anxious Love. The word f--k is in the first sentence. She may have secretly read it and not told me, though. What’s the best reaction you’ve ever received over one of your books? A review of Anxious Love said it had some of the best sex scenes she has every read. That's pretty cool. I've also had people who suffer from anxiety tell me I captured it perfectly. They go through what Leah goes through everyday. What was your favourite book as a child? How to Eat Fried Worm by Thomas Rockwell. I still read it. It's about friendship, bullies, love, keeping your word, family support and overcoming challenges. It has gross out humour, too, which I love. Who are your must-read/one-click authors? Anything written by Stephen Kings. He is the best storyteller. When I start a new novel, I read The Great Gatsby. It inspires me to pay attention to settings and description. For romance, I one-click JA Huss, Cora Carmack, Willow Winters, Raven St. Pierre, Gemma James, & M. Never. What book has made you cry the most? I recently read Sordid by Nikki Sloane. The book was excruciatingly hard for me to read. The emotions were raw and triggered some things in me. I cried throughout. I loved it because I worry about pushing my characters too far in my books. Nikki took me over the edge, but she brought me back safe and sound. What is your drink of choice while writing? Not a very original answer, but coffee. It doesn't keep me up, so I can drink coffee all day. If you could have any superpower, what would it be? I love to travel, but it' s so expensive. If I could fly, that would save me some money and I could go anywhere I want to go. I'd be fearless if I could fly. What is your favourite season? I love winter. Love sweaters and boots. Love hot apple cider and chili. I usually take a trip to New York or DC during the winter months so I can wear big coats and stroll the streets people watching. I love Christmas and New Years. It's all about family, good food and lots of laughing. Are you a morning person? I am a wanna be morning person. I'm in morning person training. Since June, I've been waking up 15 minutes earlier every month, trying to train my body to enjoy mornings. I'm at 7:15 and at my desk by 8:00 am. I want to add one more hour to my morning. BUT, if I had no responsibilities. I'd stay up until 3:00 am and sleep until 11:00 am every day. What book are you reading now? I'm a book before the movie kind of person. I'm readying Inferno by Dan Brown. The movie comes out soon. Dan Brown is another one-click author for me. He puts out a book once every 2 - 3 years, so he's easy to keep up. For those who are new to your work, which book would you recommend starting with? I would start with Anxious Love. It's my favourite and I've improved my writing with each book, might as well start with the best-written book. Next, I'd read Another New Life. It's my debut novel and the most personal. Deals with some heavy issues of abuse and promiscuity in the back drop of sweet second chance love story.
