Alison has been writing for over a year now. Her debut book Finding Love (October 2015) was published by Siren Publishing. Her following books Needing Your Love (November 2015), Found My Love (December 2015), and Fighting for Love (January 2016) were also published with Siren to finish the Learning to Love series. Her desire to see her books on shelves led to her next work Chasing Dreams (April 2015) She submitted it for publication with Limitless Publishing and was thrilled that it was quickly accepted. Excited to reach that goal, she moved on to the next series she had in mind and wrote Saved By a Soldier (June 2016), My Broken Soldier (July 2016), Forever My Soldier (August 2016), and A Soldier for Bella (September 2016). Alison enjoyed reading as a child and found her passion for it again in 2011 when E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey was released. Her love of reading was re-ignited and she continued reading other books in the same genre. In the summer of 2015, she decided to give writing a try and two weeks later Finding Love was born. As soon as she finished the first book, she began writing the second book in the series. Her third book was finished by the time Finding Love had been accepted for publication. Alison discovered she has a passion for writing and has spent the last year meeting new readers and sharing the love she has for writing. Married to her own real life hero, Alison lives with her amazing family in Massachusetts where she was born and raised. She loves having her own personal inspiration right at home and when she’s not writing she enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and football with her son Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a military wife and stay at home mom. I have a ten year old son and a 18 year old daughter and when I’m not writing I’m very busy with them. One of my favorite things to do is play sports with my son. We are always throwing a football around or kicking soccer ball. I started writing a little over a year ago and published my first book in Oct 2015. Are you an action, paranormal, or romance type of person? Definitely romance- Contemporary, military, suspense, erotica Tell us about your latest release. My latest release is A Soldier for Bella. It’s book four in the Love Conquers Life series. The first three books in the series are Carter and Patty’s story but I felt Bella needed a story so she got it. She’s an aspiring model that hooks up with Derek (Carter’s Boss and friend). Bella has a stalker and Derek is trying to be supportive of her career but catch her stalker as well. What can readers expect from you in 2017? I have two releases already scheduled for 2017. To get more updates you can join my newsletter www.alisonmelloauthor.com Which of your books was your favourite to write and why? really loved writing Embracing Love (coming 2017). I think I enjoyed this one so much because it was the first book I’ve written where the male was still serving his country. With my previous books they had served and had just gotten out or had been out and have established a life as a civilian. If you were stranded on a desert island with one of your characters, who would you pick and why? Wow I can only pick one? Okay, I would say Michael from Fighting for Love. He’s the perfect balance between protective and steamy. He loves to play in the bedroom but when it comes to his family he doesn’t screw around. Have your family ever read any of your work? What do they think about it? It’s really funny because I have a ton of family that read my books and I feel like I’m constantly warning them before they read them. I write romance and there are some seriously hot sex scenes in some of my books, so I’m always worried that they’re going to freak out because I used the word pussy or other provocative language, but I they usually come back and tell me awesome job or that they’re proud of me and they loved it. What’s the best reaction you’ve ever received over one of your books? I recently had a reader PM me and tell me how much they loved the Love Conquers Life series. It made them both laugh and cry. She really thought it was a great series. I really like hearing what readers thing but when they take the time to private message me, to me that is so much more special than just writing a review. What was your favourite book as a child? As a child I really loved The Babysitter’s Club books. Who are your must-read/one-click authors? Jade West, Cory Cyr What book has made you laugh the most? Bent by S.H. Timmins What book has made you cry the most? The Air He Breathes by Brittany C. Cherry Are any of the experiences in your books based on events that have happened to you/someone you know? I think there are a few pieces of me or people I know in every book I write, but I wouldn’t say that my books are solely based on any one event or person. What is your drink of choice while writing? Coffee for sure What is your favourite writing snack? Apple with peanut butter What is your favourite season? Fall- I love to watch the leaves change color and I love that the weather isn’t really hot or really cold. Are you a morning person? No, I’m not a morning person. I wake early but I hate getting out of bed and often lay in bed to check my email and scroll through Facebook before getting up. Cowboys, fighters, mafia men, billionaires, or soldiers? Soldiers What book are you reading now? Torn by Carian Cole Name 3 books everyone needs to read (excluding yours). The Air He Breathes By Brittany C. Cherry, Sugar Daddies by Jade West, and Acquiesce by Cory D. Cyr For those who are new to your work, which book would you recommend starting with? would stay start at the beginning. Finding Love, it’s my debut book and it has gotten great reviews. I will warn you though it ends in a cliff hanger and will make you want to pick up Needing Your Love!
