Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m an only child and I’ve always been a dreamer. I love writing stories and sharing them with others. My goal in life is to turn my books into movies. I also want to be a TV writer in Hollywood. I already have a couple episodes written for an original drama and currently working on my first feature film’s screenplay.
Tell us about your latest release.
My latest release is an erotic short story titled “Excitable” in the anthology titled “14 Shades of F*cked Up”
What can readers expect from you in the rest of 2017?
I’m in the middle of writing a young adult novel. I’m going to publish another new adult romance later this year and maybe a Christmas novella too.
Have you got anything planned for 2018 (book releases, signings etc.)?
I’m hoping to release a vampire novel and another new adult romance next year. Maybe more. No signings scheduled yet.
What is your favourite genre to write?
I find most of my book ideas are new adult romance.
Do you see yourself writing in any other genres in the future?
I want to try my hand at horror and more science fiction/fantasy storylines other than vamps.
Which book was your favourite to write, and why?
My rock star’s trilogy. Her books are currently in editing. I have an addiction to concerts and it was only natural to write about a rock star.
For those who are new to your work, which book would you recommend starting with?
I recommend Sydney’s first book, Shades of Sydney.
How do you find names for your characters?
And can you write them until you’ve found the perfect one? Some names come to me. If I’m having trouble I go to baby name sites. I can’t write without the right name.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My friend, Whitney, she’s a fellow writer and we keep each other motivated.
Who are your must-read/one-click authors?
Sarah Dessen and Ellen Hopkins
What book has made you cry most?
13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Were you an avid reader as a child?
I loved when the book fairs came to my school. I had to buy a lot of books.
Are any of the experiences in your books based on events that have happened to you/someone you know?
Pieces of most my books are based on true events mixed in with a lot of fiction.
Do you have any funny writing quirks or stories you could tell us?
My cat, Buddy, likes to sit on top of my chair as I write. He’s become my writing buddy. Though he is no longer allowed to walk by my laptop. He deleted a book once. Thank God for Ctrl+Z .
Are you a sporty or curl up with a good book type of person?
I enjoy curling up with a good book or watching a good TV show or movie.
What is the wildest thing you’ve ever done?
Not sure if this is wild or not but I’ve met many rock stars and I spent the night in Sea World once. Slept right next to the beluga whales.
What is your drink of choice while writing?
A bottle of water.
What is your favourite writing snack?
Gold fish and Hershey Kisses (when I can get them).
Do you have any pets?
I have 3 inside cats and an outside cat I take care of since my neighbour moved and abandoned him.
Are you a morning person?
God no. I’m a writing vampire who can only think at night.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
To fly, I’d love to be able to go anywhere I want when I want.
What book are you reading now?
The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon.
Name 3 books everyone needs to read (excluding yours).
If I Stay by Gayle Forman, Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen, and Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton
